Welcome to Holy Angels Catholic Church

We are a welcoming Catholic community called by God to live out the message of Christ in love and service to all people. We offer many ministries in which our parishioners are allowed to participate in numerous spiritual as well as social activities rich in Laotian and Hispanic Catholic traditions. These ministries support many of our parishioners on their journey to making their lives as Catholics more meaningful.

Announcements:

Cross Catholic. Last weekend we were blessed to have Fr. Carlos Chavez from Cross Catholic Outreach. More than ever, poor families in developing countries depend on Catholic missions for assistance with food, water, shelter, medical care, and spiritual nourishment. It’s not too late to support Cross Catholic Outreach and the efforts of these vital international missions. To participate, please go to CrossCatholic.org/outreach or text BLESSINGS to 474747.

Parish closure postponed. The closure of Holy Angels Parish date has changed to February 2023 due to rescheduling the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine to February 2023. The rescheduling ensures that all other elements added due to the conversion of the sanctuary to sanctuary and parish are properly assigned/reassigned. The impact of this change on our parish will be announced later.

Hope House. Thanks to your generosity, we have maxed out our food storage capacity at the Hope House. For this reason, we are not accepting more food donations notice. Again, thank you much for your generosity.

Encounter. The Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WME) group plans its next Marriage Encounter weekend for October 21-23. For more information, call Efren and Mary Palacios at 405.474.4250, Ruben and Cecilia Pasillas at 405.314.5753, or Jaime and Juanita Ramos at 405.204.5506

Pre-Baptismal Class. Unfortunately, there is no longer space for the pre-baptismal talk in October. This talk is the last class of 2022. We will make an announcement when another class becomes available.

Vacation. Fr. Rusty is out on vacation until the end of this week. We will not celebrate Mass on weekdays until his return.

Catholic Charities. This year’s Catholic Charities Annual Appeal focuses on how we are connected.  “Yours are the hands; yours are the feet; yours are the eyes; you are his body. Christ has no body now  on earth but yours.” Help those in need by donating to Catholic Charities’ Annual Appeal at  https://www.catholiccharitiesok.org/annual-appeal or filling out the envelope on the pews.

RE Enrollment Opportunity. One of our parishioners has generously volunteered to teach a  Confirmation preparation class for ninth graders on Sundays after the 8:30 am mass. For more information, call the parish office.

Telephones Problems. Cox Business Communications Company is in the process of modernizing its systems. This process is nearing completion but has negatively affected our phone system over the past few weeks. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

Helping. We are glad to announce that we will assist St. Joseph Parish with its catechism program. Beginning September 13, St. Joseph Parish will use some of our classrooms every Tuesday for its catechism classes. More information, such as room numbers, hours, etc., will be announced later.

Pre-Cana. We will be offering a marriage preparation program on Saturday, 24 September. This day of reflection for sacramental marriage, or Pre-Cana, is open to all couples thinking about getting married and for couples that want to strengthen their marriage. Limited space. Please note that no childcare will be provided and, because this is a course for adults only, children will not be allowed.

Community Weddings. The following community weddings will be on Wednesday, 12 October. We do not want the lack of means or anything else to prevent you from being right with God, the church, and your partner. Limited to a maximum of 10 couples. For more information, contact the parish office.
